Description |
The course is aimed at first-semester Bachelor's students in Urban Studies and Master's students in Architecture.
In this course, we test and discuss various methods of spatial and temporal representation, as well as the development of ideas, concepts, and designs from different eras and cultures. We analyze analog and digital forms of representation and visual media from architecture and art, such as drawings, diagrams, maps, mappings, collages, photomontages, renderings, which conceptualize and make the various time layers and the design process itself visible. Additionally, we will study particularly successful works, buildings, or spatial environments by artists, architects, or urban planners in terms of their methods and representations during the creation process. Following this, you will develop your own aesthetic experiments, structured actions, freehand drawings, architectural drawings, image constructions, and compositions that visualize not only a future state but also a design thinking process in two and three dimensions. During this process, you will experiment with various artistic-atmospheric, analog, and digital representation techniques. Student exchange is encouraged through group work and collective drawing. You will compile your work results in a portfolio. The master´s students develop an artistic intervention. The assessment criteria for performance will be differentiated according to the two degree programs.
