Description |
On several occasions and for one day each, we will travel to Berlin to visit current international art, architecture, and design practices in the spaces where they take place. By exploring studios, ateliers, workshops, and project spaces, we will gain insight into the spatial, material, and economic conditions that shape how work is created, researched, and shared today. Our focus will not only be on physical infrastructures and everyday realities, but also on the social relations and networks that influence creative practices, as well as on how new forms of working (and living) together might emerge from these conditions. Throughout the semester, each participant will research and introduce the work of an artist, architect, or designer, and will initiate and moderate a collective conversation with the group on site. We will write short texts that critically reflect on the spaces, practices, and their contexts. The visited spaces will also be visually documented through drawing, photography, or scanning, as situated engagements with spatial constellations and encounters. Finally, participants will collaboratively develop a publication that brings together texts, drawings, images, and conversations to create a shared topology of contemporary practices and spaces. |
