typotopie ist ein interdisziplinäres Gestaltungsmodul im Kontext von Typografie, Raum, Struktur, Material, Licht und Inszenierung. Ihr entwickelt und realisiert experimentelle Konzepte für den Auftritt der Bauhaus-Universität zur Leipziger Buchmesse, inspiriert von den Idealen Reduktion, Konstruktion, Klarheit und Idee. Pappe, Holz und Licht bilden das Konstruktionsgerüst, Typografie die erzählerische Struktur. Wir suchen Ideen, die mehr sind als Räume, sie sollen lesbar, erlebbar, sprechend sein. Am Ende steht unser gemeinsames Ziel, wir auf der Buchmesse. Die Vorkurse des Moduls sind handwerklich ausgerichtet. Ihr erprobt materialsparende leichte Konstruktionen in Form von Stab-, Faltwerken und Membranen. Die Lichtkünstlerin Cornelia Erdmann wird Euch Licht als Material näherbringen. Euren Vorschlag für einen herstellbaren Messestand bearbeitet Ihr am besten im Team. Ihr könnt das Wissen aus den Vorkursen nutzen. Ab Februar werden wir gemeinsam mit dem Bau beginnen und Ihr könnt Eure handwerklichen Fähigkeiten erweitern. Ultimately, our common goal is to be at the book fair. The preliminary courses for the module focus on craftsmanship. You will experiment with lightweight, material-saving constructions in the form of rods, folded structures and membranes. Light artist Cornelia Erdmann will introduce you to light as a material. It is best to work on your proposal for a producible exhibition stand in a team. You can use the knowledge you have gained in the preliminary courses. We will start construction together in February, and you will have the opportunity to expand your technical skills.
