The BIM enabled Digital Twins (BIM2in) course introduces learners to the digital transformation of the built environment through the integration of digital tools, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and Digital Twin technologies. The course explores how digital models, structured data, and advanced sensing technologies support the documentation, analysis, and lifecycle management of assets. Learners will discover how BIM models evolve into dynamic Digital Twins by integrating technologies such as GIS, IoT sensors, photogrammetry, and data platforms, enabling real-time monitoring, simulation, and predictive decision-making. The course also addresses practical applications in cultural heritage management, lifecycle assessment, and sustainable engineering, demonstrating how digital twins support conservation, sustainability, and smarter asset management. By combining theoretical foundations with real-world case studies and digital workflows, the course equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and apply Digital Twin technologies across the entire asset lifecycle, supporting innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation in the built environment. The BIM2in curriculum is designed as a modular course structure that bridges the gap between digital theory and industry application, focusing on Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Twins (DT). The outline is divided into Core Modules, which establish foundational knowledge, and Advanced Modules, which offer specialized industry applications. Online course (self-study learning) Discover how digital technologies are transforming the way we design, build, and manage assets. The BIM enabled Digital Twins course provides an accessible introduction to lifecycle information management, digital workflows, and the future of smart infrastructure—helping you build skills relevant to tomorrow’s digital construction industry.
