This seminar offers a hands-on introduction to HCI research through either developing your own project or contributing to ongoing research in the lab: this semester for a project Urban Togetherness Photobooth. You will be guided through the full process: shaping an idea, designing and running a study, analyzing results, and writing an academic paper. The course is structured through 3 key block (Finding RQ + Study planning; Analysing data; Writing the paper) and 3 progress meetings combined with independent work, continuous feedback from lab members, and access to lab space and mentoring. The siminar runs from April to September. Block dates - Fridays: 24.04.2026, 22.05.2026, 12.06.2026 (4- 5 hours each) Time: TBA Feedback meetings will be discussed and organised based on the team speed of work. Optimally, feedback meetings will take place on the same dates as the workshops + one more towards the end of June. All three block dates will take place during semester teaching time, however, the report can be submitted at any point until the 31.9.2026 (unless you are going for the Student Research Competition https://muc2026.mensch-und-computer.de/submission/ at MUC26, deadline 01.07.2026). |
