Beschreibung

We dedicate ourselves to deepening and testing drawing skills. This involves training and sensitizing eyes and hands in the perception and sketching of spatial situations and objects. The ability to conceive and convey one's own designs and ideas requires training in drawing and abstraction. What is seen is interpreted, the essential is emphasized and the non-essential is omitted. We move in the field of tension between concretion and abstraction. Drawing presupposes active perception and observation. "It's not what I see, but how I see that is crucial to the image production process. (...) Drawing requires a symbiosis between what is seen, what is thought, what is guessed, what is known and what is possible that eludes perception."1

The drawing of vivid or imagined spatial situations or objects follows different laws of the illusion of three-dimensionality and depth on the surface.Image composition, construction, proportions, hatchings and textures are reproduced and atmosphere is created through graphic elements and light-shadow contrasts. The search for one's own handwriting and the appropriate means(pencil, ink, chalk, charcoal, paint) aims at graphic expression, with which tension, contrast and emphasis can be placed in the drawing.

A sketchbook serves as a drawing diary to deepen the weekly exercise steps. The technique of scribbling is used to introduce drawing in a playful way and to sketch ideas and concepts with simple strokes. For inspiration, look for appealing everyday things or situations that can be noted. Each exercise session is guided by worksheets that are published in the Moodle room. At the end of the course, 12 A3 drawings and the semester-long sketchbook will be handed in in a folder. The evaluation is carried out with an attestation. Regular attendance is required for successful completion.
