This course delves into the phenomenon of fakes across various contexts, highlighting the transformative role of generative AI in both producing and critically evaluating deepfakes. While the practice of deception is as ancient as social interaction itself, modern AI technologies offer unprecedented capabilities to manipulate and reshaping how we perceive truth and fiction. With the help of Stable Diffusion and other generative AI tools, we will not only learn to craft convincing deepfakes but also develop skills to detect and debunk them. Our aim is to cultivate a deep understanding of the technologies' societal impacts, sparking discussions on ethical considerations and strategies work with them artistically. This course is designed for those eager to navigate the complex interplay between art, technology, and authenticity, empowering participants with the knowledge to discern and discuss the nuances of digital fakery.
